My favoriate Peruvian restaurant upgraded to a bigger location and changed their name to Marino’s Cafe. I was afraid they had shut down after driving by a few weeks ago passed their old location and seeing the lights off and door closed. Finally, one day, I pulled over to look inside and saw a handwritten sign on the door saying they had moved. I went home to Google the new address location and they were still close in town. Today, like always I was greeted by the boss lady and told her I found her!
Busy as ever, the food is still just as good. I came again with my friend Deborah. She had a pesto pasta with fried fish (not pictured) and I tried their Peruvian chicken soup and fried sweet plantains!
I’m so happy and proud for them to have this new bigger restaurant.

The Chocolate Salted Caramel Doughnut @ Dough stand in Smorgasburg Dumbo.
Not the best photo, the doughnut got smushed in the bag. I love this doughnut. The dough has a nice soft chewiness to it. The glaze wasn’t too sweet. I shared it and now I want my own.

Brisket and Pull Pork sliders @ Mighty Quinn Barbeque stand in Smorgasburg Dumbo.
Do yourself a favor and get on line for this no matter how long and intimidating the line is. You won’t regret it. Do yourself another favor and order the big size. The little is just too little to share and then you’ll want seconds. The meat is so tender and flavorful. It’s one of the best brisket sandwiches I’ve had.

The Uni Miso Mazemen @ Yuji Ramen stand in Smorgasburg Dumbo.
Mazemen is a soup-less ramen served cold. I think it’s a clever idea to introduce ramen this way. It definitely makes it much easier to eat standing up without worrying of spilling soup all over the place. Also, who would want to eat piping hot ramen outside in the summer months?
I ordered their special…Uni Miso Ramen. The noodle were thick and chewy topped with a dollop of uni and miso, shredded shiso leaves, nori flakes, and zest of orange. Combined the flavors were just so so. I’m not sure how fresh the uni was, it was a little fishy. The other menu choices sounded interesting as well..Bacon, Egg, & Cheese and Spicy Tuna. I wouldn’t mind trying those.
