Notes

With everyone’s busy work schedule, marriage life, etc…it’s so hard to get everyone together. My friends and I must have sent at least 100 e-mails back and forth to set up this dinner date. Finally, a decision was made; but no one made the dinner reservation. I actually didn’t think we needed one…my fault entirely.
So this is what happens when you don’t make dinner reservations for a table of 5 on a Saturday night in NYC. We planned to eat at the Green Table Restaurant located inside the Chelsea Market at 7-7:30pm; but when we got there the waiter told me they were all booked up for the night. Thank goodness for smart phones because we spent a half hour+ searching and calling almost every single restaurant we can think of. Of course, no one had any open tables until past 9PM. It was raining as well so it wasn’t really convenient to walk around to look for another restaurant. Finally, we called Sagaponack and they told us they had a table for us right now. We took it and and rushed right over.
I had eaten brunch at Sagaponack before, and it was good. I was happy to come back to try their dinner menu. Last night I had the crispy skate with spinach and Israeli cous cous (pictured above). The flavors were tasty and portions were just right. The service was just a bit slow as we were hungry and the food took forever. We joked that they must have gone to the ocean to catch the lobster and fish.
It was a great night. It’s so nice to see everyone and reminisce on our college days, make fun of each other, and just catch up. We have to do this more often, and next time I’ll definitely make reservations!
