Kerropi & Totoro green tea cookies (Taken with instagram)
I saw a recipe for these green tea Kerropi and Totoro cookies on my dashboard and I just had to make them. It’s a simple butter (shortbread) recipe and they taste so good and so cute to look at. Thanks to the little cousin Erica for helping!

French Macaroon Workshop at DessertTruck Works
This past Saturday, I attended a french macaroon workshop at DessertTruck Work’s pastry shop/cafe located in the Lower East Side. I like macaroons and thought it would be a fun experience to learn how to make these delicate french cookies.
There were around 12 people in the class and space was tight in their small shop so we worked in groups of 3, with each of us taking turns whisking and such. Good thing we were partnered up, because after whisking the meringue for just a minute, my arm got tired…haha! And there was a lot of whisking. First, you whisk egg whites and sugar, and then whisk some more over a double boiler and you keep on doing it until you’ve reached a marshmallowy consistency. Each group got to choose their own color and we took turns piping them onto a sheet pan. Due to timing, (we need to let the macaroons dry for ate least 30 minutes before baking) the instructors already had some pre-made tops and bottoms. We all got to choose our own filling and piped our own cookies. Whatever we piped we could eat or take home. I ate 3 in class and took a bunch home.
It was definitely fun, and a good experience. Will I ever make these at home? Maybe. It really wasn’t that hard and it will be a lot easier for me since I have a Kitchen Aid to help me do all the whisking. =)

I bought a tub of Otis Spunkmeyer’s Peanut Butter cookies from my little cousin’s school fundraiser. They are frozen and ready to bake. Just put them on a cookie sheet and turn on the oven. Voila, in 16 minutes (or until golden brown) you have yourself some very yummy cookies.
